The Brief
A plumbing incident left much of this investment property gutted. The brief was to update the ensuite and bathroom with a new contemporary, cost effective scheme that was robust for a rental property, budget conscious, but in-keeping with a higher-end feel to appeal to the white-collar Middle Park (Melbourne) market.
What we did...
With COVID challenges, this project was conducted online via zoom and phone calls. The design for the bathroom and ensuite were tweaked to make the spaces feel larger and increase functionality. The downstairs bathroom was extremely compact so a wall basin was selected with an above sink shaving cabinet and a ledge added along the wall to provide an extra space to put things. This was extended into the shower in place of a shelf. Tiles, tapware and fittings were selected to complement the existing kitchen and palette of the home. Paint colours were also selected for repainting the house once works were complete. A briefing package containing sketches and scheduling documentation was produced for the builder.
